Susan Grinels
Susan grew up in North Carolina with a Sheltand pony she had won from a contest put on by the first mall constructed in Charlotte. Susan’s love of animals lead her to a career in veterinary medicine working as a certified veterinary assistant for a number of years. It was later that she went to art school and spent her summers in Wyoming horsepacking in the Wind River Range. Susan attended the Corcoran School of Art and graduated with a degree in graphic design. She has won awards at local, regional and international art shows for her torn paper collages and pastel paintings. In 2013 she received the Master Circle award from the International Association of Pastel Societies and in 2015 became a Signature Member of the International Society of Acrylic Painters. Susan’s artwork “Steady, Steady” was chosen to be the poster for the 2015 Meeker Classic Sheepdog Trials. Susan is a transplanted southerner that now lives in Lander, Wyoming with her husband and assorted animals.
