After traveling extensively in Europe and the United States, many paintings have been conceived in the photographs taken on these trips, especially from France and England. From a magical, clear, sunny morning in Beynac, France, after days of rain, came paintings of water filled, multi colored boats on a beach of the Dordogne River.. After staying with friends on a sheep farm in England, paintings of the vibrant greens of the English country side and colorful sunsets were born. Painting children captured in unguarded moments of play is especially rewarding and fulfilling. The love of color finds expression in my paintings while creating scenes that have given me much pleasure. I am pleased to share my work with you.
I grew up on a farm in Nebraska with a creative mother who taught me to enjoy colors and patterns in fabrics, and I dreamed of becoming an artist. After getting married and raising three children, I finished my degree and became an elementary teacher.
In the spring of 2008, I was inspired by two artists who introduced me to the world of soft pastels. Since then, my paintings have won awards in local, state, national, and international shows. My paintings can be found in private collections in France, England, California, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Texas, and Colorado.
