Though originally from Canada, I have lived out West with my husband and three children since 1993. I am so fortunate to live in Colorado! I see paintings all around me every day. Since the late 90’s I have been enjoying using the pastel medium in a painterly, colorist style to capture what I see. One of the best qualities of pastel is that it allows for multiple layers of application, giving the artist liberty to experiment with letting surprising colors shine through in the finished piece.
