Margot Ardourel
I was born in Ohio and grew up in Ohio, Michigan and Minnesota. I worked in the travel industry for 25 years and then for the Gates Rubber Company in Customer Service. I retired and went home to play in my studio, rug hooking, quilting, making character dolls.
I have always had a mentor who pushed me out of my comfort zone. I took a job with Eric Bransby 8 years ago which led me to get involved in the art world. Eric critiqued my work and became one of those mentors. Without Eric I probably would not have gotten involved in fine art. I am enjoying the journey.
I have been trained in watercolor by Reveille Kennedy and in pastel by Judy Michael Myers.
I love working in pastel because of its vibrance and ease of use.
My subjects are varied: cityscapes, animals, landscapes and still life. I enjoy finding new challenges.
