I was born and raised in Moscow, Russia, in a family that deeply valued arts and culture. From a young age, I immersed myself in a rich cultural world—visiting Moscow’s renowned museums, attending art exhibitions, concerts, and theater performances. These experiences left a lasting imprint, nurturing a quiet yet enduring passion for the visual arts.
Following in my family’s footsteps, I became an engineer-mathematician, but the longing for artistic expression never faded. More than thirty years ago, Colorado became my new home. While the vibrant cultural life of Moscow gave way to the vast, breathtaking landscapes of the American West, the natural beauty of Colorado awakened my visual sensibilities in a new way.
In time, that persistent yearning for art found its remedy in painting. What began as a quiet desire has become a vital form of communication—a way to connect with my inner world and give voice to what matters most. Through painting, I seek to bridge the worlds I have experienced: the structured elegance of mathematics, the richness of culture, the awe-inspiring presence of nature, and, at times, a quiet philosophical search.
I am drawn to the belief of Dostoevsky that “beauty will save the world.” It is a sentiment that continues to give me strength and hope—not just in art, but in life.
