Bonnie Anthony’s 9 x 12 “Pekoe”, Starr Miller’s 18 x 24 “Shadow Play” and Mary Sexton’s 12 x 9 “America’s Mountain” were accepted into the show put on by the Pastel Society of Colorado. Find more information about PSC here.

Bonnie Anthony, president of PPPS, won an Honorable Mention award for “Pekoe”.

Upcoming Critique Program

May 4, 2018 By mpsexton

Our next meeting being held at Coutura on THURSDAY, May 17, 2018, starting at 10am.

Honey Lea Gaydos has arranged a Constructive Critique program to be given by Jean Gumpper, MFA, from 10am–12pm.

Jean is Lecturer and Artist-in-Residence at Colorado College in Colorado  Springs. Please see her portfolio and full bio on her website: jeangumpper.com. We are lucky to have her come visit us!

Please bring 1–2 paintings that you would like to have critiqued and we can learn together how to constructively and effectively critique our own and other artist’s work. A painting that you’re having issues with or that perhaps was rejected for submission into a show would work be perfect candidates.

This should be a very informative and interesting program. Jean’s program will be from 10:00–12:00, which is our usual meeting time. This is the only time we could acquire her expertise, so we will forego official PPPS business unless anybody has something they want to bring up after the program.

Thank you to Honey Lea for arranging this. I, for one, am excited to learn what Jean has to teach!

If anybody wants to go to lunch afterwards we can find a restaurant near Coutura…suggestions, anyone?
